Viral Dollars says you can earn up to $500 by referring friends. You can earn $10-$15 per friend.

That sounds really good.

However, it’s not really true. You won’t get paid.

What is Viral Dollars?

Upon entering the Viral Dollars site, you can see that it looks very professional, which might make you think it’s a legitimate site.

The homepage says that you can earn $2-$5 for every person that clicks on your referral link and $15 for anyone who signs up using your link.

They also say they’re giving you a $25 sign up bonus.

This all seems very generous, and I can see why it might seem like a great idea to join. Who doesn’t love easy money?

But you know what they say…

Since Viral Dollars is free, and they’re paying people all of this money, it might make you wonder how they are making money to pay people?

According to their site, they have advertising partners that they work with that pay them money. They then take a piece of that and give it back to their users.

Unfortunately, this is all lies.

You will not get paid.

Here’s someone I found on Twitter who says what happened to her (I left out her details in case she doesn’t really want to be on my blog. But you can search “Viral Dollars” in Twitter to see.)

Here’s a video of someone on YouTube who says he actually got paid from Viral Dollars. I highly recommend you read through his comments though because there are plenty of people there who said they never got paid.

How Does Viral Dollars Work?

Not only is this site a big waste of time, but it’s also dangerous because what their real goal is to steal your data. This is very similar to the Kids Earn Cash scam. They hope that you’ll use the same username and password as you use on other sites so that they can steal your personal information.

If they can’t get into your other sites to steal your personal information, then they will sell the information that you gave them when you signed up for Viral Dollars to shady marketers and you will be bombarded with offers.

Either way, it’s a lose-lose situation.

Because this is “free”, it seems like it’s not a big deal to try it out. And that’s what they’re hoping for. You go in, you make some referrals (more data collected for them) and then when you don’t get paid you say, “Oh well. It didn’t cost me anything.”

And that’s exactly what they want.

Because people will try it out if they don’t think they have anything to lose. Meanwhile, they don’t realize that they may end up losing a whole lot more than money.

Yes, 100%, Viral Dollars is a scam. Their main purpose is to get your personal information and sell it on the black market.

Fake Testimonials

Now, you may be on the Viral Dollars site and you see that they have some video testimonials. These are completely fake. Marketers will sometimes hire actors and have them pretend like they’re making money. This is just a trick.

They go to a freelancer site like Fiverr.com and hire people to do these testimonials for them. This woman may be making money with her acting gigs, but she’s not making it with Viral Dollars.

There are also other screenshots with “proof” on their site, but these are easily faked. In fact, I did a search for one of the users and Twitter since her name is pretty unique, and it doesn’t seem to exist.

The other thing they may do is pay a few people so they can post this “proof”. It doesn’t mean you’ll get paid though. I know I wouldn’t risk it!

Why It’s So Compelling to Sign Up

They say they’re going to give you a $25 bonus just for signing up. They do that because it’s kind of a lot of money for not doing much work. And as you continue to refer people, you see your account balance increasing and increasing.

This is very motivating because you can see how much money you’re making.

The problem is that the pay-out limit is so high that you’ll likely never reach it. (I think it’s $250.) And even if you do, they’ll just say that you didn’t do it right and have fraudulent stats so they don’t have to pay you.

What to Do if You’ve Already Signed Up

If you’ve already signed up for Viral Dollars, then what I suggest is to make sure you change your username and passwords on other programs, especially if you’ve used the same ones.

If you’ve started referring people, please let them know that Viral Dollars is a scam and have them read this article.

Also be prepared that you may start getting more and more spam messages. You can either create a new email box, or mark them as spam in your email provider and wait it out until the messages slow down.

I know it’s a pain, and hopefully you haven’t signed up yet so you won’t have to deal with all of this.

Viral Dollars Complaints

When I typed “Viral Dollars Complaints” into Google, I was highly disappointed. There is a marketer who is in the first spot there and he’s trying to say that Viral Dollars is actually legit.

This makes me really disappointed. There are people out there who will promote anything if they think it will make them a buck, whether it’s actually legit or not. You really need to be on your toes out there.

With that said, I went to ScamGuard, and I found actual complaints against Viral Dollars there. You can click the link to read them all, but it’s exactly what all the other complainers I’ve found so far said. They tell you that you’ve conducted fraud and so they refuse to pay you. (Probably because they don’t actually have a way to pay people. It’s all a sham!)

Viral Dollars Will Be Back

What happens with sites like Viral Dollars is that people start calling them out for being a scam, then they take the site down and put a new one up with new branding. It happens again and again and again.

So it’s hard to truly take them down because they keep popping back up.

What you have to do is look at a site like Viral Dollars and kind of study it to see what the features are. Things like:

• $25 sign up bonus
• $2-$5 for every person that clicks on your link (which is ridiculous. No one does this.)
• $10-$15 for getting referrals
• Fake testimonials
• Saying they work with big brands and they get ad revenue from them (They don’t.)

Viral Dollars is using a type of marketing called affiliate marketing. Even though they are not legitimate, affiliate marketing is actually a legitimate way to do business online.

Almost every major company has an affiliate marketing program. This is actually what I do and it’s something that anyone can learn how to do.

I see that people are easily referring people to something like Viral Dollars. If you can do that, then you can easily make an income with affiliate marketing in a legit way.

All you need to do is learn the step by step process to put a website together and attract people to it who will be interested in purchasing what you promote. When you make sales on your site, you get commissions from those sales.

While it does take some time and energy to build up your site, the income that you can produce will far outweigh anything that Viral Dollars can do. Not only that, when you learn how to build a business legitimately, it’s not going to go away. You can keep building and building on that income.

With these “get rich quick” sites, even if you can make some quick sales, it won’t last. The sites will be shut down and people won’t trust you because you’re trying to sell them shady stuff.
