Is Emris International a Legit Company? [CBD Oil Pyramid Scheme?]

If you’re wondering if Emris International is a legit company, then I’m happy you’re here because I’m going to give you the scoop on this one!

Emris International is a brand new (at the time of this writing) multi-level marketing (MLM) company focused in the CBD oil industry.

CBD oil is quite a popular topic these days and it looks like companies are scrambling to take advantage. Emris International is the next in line to get involved in this hopping industry.

But, is it worth it to join? What is the compensation plan like? How much can you make? And is Emris International a legit company, or just a CBD oil pyramid scheme?

I’ll help you answer all of those questions and more in the article below.

Let’s get to it!

What is Emris International?

Emris International Homepage

Emris International is a direct sales company started in 2019 and is headed up by co-founder Aspen Emry. To give you a little background on Aspen, she has been involved in a few other MLM companies in the past:

This is a banner from Emry’s homepage where she says she empowers women to love the life of their dreams. We’ll get back to why this is false a little later.

Aspen Emry empowers women?

Now, let’s get back to Aspen’s company.

Emris sells CBD oil products and non-CBD oil supplements, including:

  • Synergy (CBD oil drops)
  • Vitality Plus (a daily supplement)
  • Vida (Superfood supplement)

The price of these products range from $74 to $149.

Products from Emris International.

There aren’t a ton of products available yet, but more should be added in the future.

Here’s what the Basic Starter Pack includes:

Here’s what the Business Builder Kit includes:

  • 1 Bottle Synergy

Here’s what the Legacy Builder Kit includes:

Emris International Compensation Plan

Here’s the compensation plan explained from co-founder Aspen. I’ll also try to break down the information below, but as usual, it’s complicated. You can’t have an MLM without a complicated compensation plan!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZX1vxsk_Qj4

There are 9 ways to earn with the compensation plan:

  1. Retail Profits
  2. VIP Customer Bonuses
  3. Global Customer Bonus Pool
  4. Fast Start Bonuses
  5. Team Bonuses
  6. Check Matches
  7. Director Bonus Pool
  8. Vice President Bonus Pool
  9. Incentive Trips

1. Retail Profits

If someone purchases retail from your website, you earn 20%.

2. VIP Customer Bonuses

You earn 10% every time your VIP customer makes and order.

3. Global Customer Bonus Pool

Earn 1 share of this pool for every 1000 PCCV (personable commissionable customer volume) generated in your business in a 4-week period.

4. Fast Start Bonuses

Earn $50 per person who signs up for the Business Builder Kit under you, and earn $100 per person who signs up for the Legacy Builder Kit under you.

(Note: She clarifies to say that you’re earning these bonuses because of the products that are in the kit, not because they’re signing up under you. Funny that she has to mention that. We’ll get back to why a little later.)

5. Team Bonuses

Earn a weekly residual income by building a team. You can earn up to $75,000 just in team commissions. It looks just like a pyramid, right?

Earn money with Team Bonuses.

6. Generational Check Matches

Honestly, I never understand these generational bonus things. If you really want to know what it’s all about, then check out the video. The explanation starts at 9:27.

7. Director Bonus Pool

1% of the company’s earnings go in a Director Bonus Pool. Directors get 10 shares of the bonus pool, 1st Star Director gets 12 shares, 2nd Star Director gets 14 shares, and 3rd Star Director gets 16 shares.

8. Vice President Bonus Pool

This one is hard to understand, and even Aspen admits it. for details, go to 14:11 in the video.

9. Incentive Trips

Earn global incentive trips. To be determined…

How Much Money Do Brand Ambassadors Make with Emris International?

Because this company is so new, time will only tell how well they and their Brand Ambassadors do.

But, if history proves right, then about 99% of people will lose money in this.

Why?

Because that’s generally what happens in every MLM company. According to this study reported on the FTC’s website, you would be better off gambling than joining an MLM.

MLMs make it seem like it will be easy to just work from home on your own time and become a real #bossbabe. But the fact is that only the people at the very, very top ever make enough money to make it worth it.

And do you know how they make their money?

From all the people below them who are spending money on the products. They make money from all the people below them losing money.

Ouch.

This is why I question when someone like Aspen say that she helps empower women. I believe that she believes that she does. But what really happens is that vulnerable women get suckered into MLMs and they end up poorer than when they started.

That’s not empowering. That’s getting taken advantage of.

Is Emris International a Legit Company, or a Pyramid Scheme?

I’m not going to say Emris International isn’t a legit company, but I think it depends on your definition of legit. Is it a real company? Yes. Is it a company that will pay you a salary and benefits? No. Not unless you get a corporate job there. This is an MLM company where you have to pay to play to be a Brand Ambassador. Legit companies don’t make you pay to work for them.

Is Emris International a pyramid scheme? Technically, no, unless the FTC determines otherwise. You did see above where building a team creates a pyramid. But because there is a product being sold retail here, it doesn’t exactly qualify as a pyramid scheme.

If it’s determined that recruiting is more important and more lucrative than selling the product retail (which we already see from the compensation plan that that’s the case), then that line of whether it’s a pyramid scheme gets a little more murky.

Pros

  • Fairly inexpensive start-up costs
  • CBD oil is a hot item right now
  • Emris is a new company and you can get in on the “ground floor”

Cons

  • You are very likely to lose money
  • Since it’s a new company, we don’t know if it’ll stand the test of time
  • MLMs don’t empower women, they take advantage of them
  • Most MLMs are on the border of being pyramid schemes
  • Even if you do manage to make money in an MLM, you will likely not make enough to survive on
  • Overpriced products

After doing research on several MLM companies now, there’s one thing that I think is pretty interesting. Even if you do manage to not lose money, you will likely not make enough to survive on.

For instance, I read a comment from someone who was in Life Leadership who said he was in the top 50 for sales, and he only made about $200 a month from that. I have read that in other income disclosure reports as well. Even the people who are pretty highly ranked only make about $10,000 a year or less (before expenses).

Worth it?

Overpriced Products

Another issue I have with MLMs is that their products are overpriced. This is so that they can pay distributors, or Brand Ambassadors in this case.

This means that it’s going to be extremely hard to sell these products to retail customers. Why would someone buy $149 on Emris International’s CBD product when they can get the same thing for $59.95?

Which one would you buy?

An Alternative to Emris International

If you like the idea of taking advantage of a booming CBD oil industry, there is another way besides joining an MLM. You can promote it and make a commission via affiliate marketing.

Let’s say you have a blog that talks about the benefits of CBD oil. You can then sign up for a CBD affiliate program. They will give you a special link that’s attached to you.

When someone buys CBD oil from your site, you earn a commission.

You can learn more about affiliate marketing from my homepage.

Here are a couple of popular CBD oil affiliate programs:

And those are just a few of the many programs available out there.

What’s great about affiliate marketing is that there’s no:

  • Recruiting
  • Uplines or downlines
  • Training others
  • Inventory
  • Starter Kits
  • Monthly sales requirements
  • Home or Facebook parties

You create great content, learn how to attract people to it via keywords and make commissions. Learn more about affiliate marketing here on my homepage.

Conclusion

Is Emris International a legit company? I’m not going to say it’s not. However, if you’re looking for a “real” job with a salary and benefits, this is not the company for you. Emris International is a multi-level marketing, or MLM, company. You can earn a commission on retail sales as well as from your team’s sales.

Because people in MLMs are likely to lose money (more than 99% of people do, and I also have personal experience with this), I personally don’t encourage anyone to sign up for them. Instead, I recommend learning about affiliate marketing as an alternative to MLMs.

With affiliate marketing, you can still work on your own time but you don’t need to do any recruiting and you don’t have any monthly sales amounts you need to hit in order to stay active. You can also promote anything you want. You’re not tied down to any one thing.

  1. Thanks for the review.  I have tried it all when it comes to online money making.  I have to agree that you are pretty spot on when it comes to MLM’s. I would also agree that affiliate marketing is the best way to go.  I am actually able to make a pretty good living working for myself through affiliate marketing.  I haven’t heard much about Emris International before but after reading this all I can say is thanks for the heads up!

    • I have tried it all trying to make money online too! I get it. I know why people get involved in things that really aren’t great. They’re just so tempting.

I would say the same for any MLM, including Emris International. While it’s a brand new MLM, it’s still an MLM and the issues are going to be the same. They are set up to help just a few people at the top succeed.

I’m glad you’re having success with affiliate marketing. I really can’t think of a better way to earn an income online. It’s not the fastest, but it definitely works if you give it enough time.
