The Science of Getting Rich | It is Your DUTY to Get Rich!

The Science of Getting Rich

I wrote this article as I was listening to the book The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles. (Don’t you love his name? Wallace Wattles is really fun to say!) He’s saying the same thing I’ve heard other insightfully rich people say about money. It’s your DUTY to get rich. You NEED to get rich in order to fully express yourself in this life.

Wattles says, “The very best thing you can do for the whole world is to make the most of yourself.

The very best thing you can do for the whole world is to make the most of yourself.
The Universe / God / Source Energy (I like Universe, but that’s just me.) is living through you, and if you’re sitting around being all broke and depressed, that is not helping the Universe to experience life through you in the fullest way.

Think about it. How can you help more people? By being sad and broke, or by being happy and rich? Does being rich mean you’ll automatically be happy? Oh no, definitely not. That’s why you need to be both rich AND happy. Rich, angry people are no fun. Broke, angry people are a real bummer too. Let’s just not be angry, ok? Life’s way too short. Of course you can be happy and broke, but that’s not helping anyone either.

If you’re thinking “But XYZ bad thing has happened in my life. Life isn’t fair.” I get it. A part of fully experiencing life is riding out the unpleasant things too. Take it as an experience, learn something from it, and then move on and find good things to think about.

Let’s get back to getting rich. Once you get rich and can help others more fully, then you need to teach them to be rich, too. Because then you’re REALLY helping them. (You know, teach a man to fish and all of that.)

Be Creative, Not Competitive

One thing that Wattles mentions in his book is that it’s important to get rich by being creative and not by being competitive. This is another message I’ve heard over and over. There is enough for everyone. There is limitless resources and funds. Limitless. It feels like it’s limited, but it’s not.

Keep your mind open here for a minute. Everything you see on this planet was first just a thought. That thought manifests into physical form. Since thoughts are limitless, so are things. Resources are limitless. (I don’t care what the powers that be say about oil. Either more will be found, or we’ll find a better way to do things.) Ideas are limitless. Money is limitless.

You’re reading this on a computer. Someone had to think that computer into being. Someone had to think of a pen before it could be created. That chair you’re sitting on? A thought came first. It HAS to be that way. How can it not? That means, as one of my favorite people Bob Proctor says, “If you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand.

If you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand.

Has This Ever Happened to You?

Believe in yourself.Have you ever thought about something so much that there was no way you couldn’t have it? You didn’t know how it would come, but you just knew it would? That has happened to me a time or two (or 20). I wrote about one of my favorite experiences about visualizing my Macbook Air into being on my other site. This is how you create everything into your being. Sometimes you create bad things. That’s why it’s important to focus on the things around you that you want more of.

Are you starting to get an idea in your mind of how to become rich? If thoughts become things, and money is a thing, then how about thinking about more money coming into your life? The trick is, you have to believe it will happen.

But if we know for sure that thoughts become things (we 100% know this because everything around us was once a thought. It HAD to be.), then we know for sure that money can be thought into being. If you believe it, the Universe will provide the path. You’ll be led to the way to become rich.

The hardest part is believing. But, why not just believe? What harm is there in knowing that you’ll be rich? Does it hurt anyone? Does it hurt you? Believe it and see what happens. I truly believe life is magical. I have seen so much magic in my own life.

I’ve seen lots of sucky things too. But the magical things are way more fun, so I’m deliberately creating more of that, and less of the sucky. Wouldn’t you like to do the same?

If you’re having a hard time with your belief systems, you may need to learn how to paradigm shift.

We’re Here to Help the Universe Expand

Make the Universe expandEvery new idea that’s brought into this world is helping to expand the Universe. You NEED to create in order to help with that expansion. You need to create the way that makes YOU fulfilled, and at the same time, helps others on their own journeys of expansion. That is your purpose for being here. That is what will lead you to being rich. There’s nothing negative about it. It’s quite beautiful, actually.

What way will you become rich? Only you will know or be led to your perfect path. You have to find things that excite you. For me, I love blogging and affiliate marketing. This whole site is dedicated to helping teach others the right way to get rich online.

Could this be the path you’re meant to follow too? Is there a reason you’re on this site right now? I don’t believe in coincidences.

If not, then you will find your perfect path to getting rich. Just be sure to use your riches in a positive way.

  1. Hi Christina,

I find your article something refreshing especially in a society that prides itself on being competitive rather than cooperative. Do you in you opinion think that if you assist enough people in getting what they want that it will result in your own wealth?

I personally belief in paying it forward and hold onto the belief that even though it is a dog eat dog world out there, I still need to look myself in the mirror and still believe there is an ethical way of becoming wealthy.

Thanks for sharing some positive pointers and practical tips.

    • Hi Rich! (Perfect name for this post! lol) Yes, I do think that assisting people with getting what they want will bring about your own wealth. For sure. I think most people who are rich practice that.

Even in affiliate marketing, this is a key strategy. We’re trying to help solve people’s problems. We WANT people to get what they’re looking for. That builds trust and gives you a good reputation.

There are lots of unethical people out there, but for sure you can make money ethically. I think most rich people are very ethical and have great intentions. If someone doesn’t have money, it’s not because it’s too competitive out there, it’s because they’re blocking it with their own subconscious thoughts. More about that in this post.

  2. That was an excellent post Christina. No doubt about that, the science of getting rich is one of the best books on self-development. It teaches people some of the universal laws to make money. It’s such as eye opening book and I will highly recommend anyone who is struggling financially to get this book.

Also, listening to audios regularly are important as well. I well also recommend the audio, Your Wish Is Your Command; How to Manifest Your Desire. You can even find the full version on YouTube. It’s a life changing program.

    • I haven’t ever heard of Your Wish is Your Command. Add that to my list of books and programs to check out! I’m glad you’ve been able to read The Science of Getting Rich. It’s actually been a while since I’ve heard it and I want to get that one back out again for another listen!

  3. I had to smile at your breezy way of expressing yourself, Christina.  The book sounds interesting, but I’m not sure I’m ready to embrace getting rich as a “duty.”  I kinda think trying to avoid being poor is a duty more than getting rich is one.

My own thought is that if your priority is self-expression, then it’s more effective if you do that self-expression the best way you know how and keep on improving on it so that you can share it with others.

I’d say that your first job, then, is probably to just get on with expressing your own realities in a way that other people can understand and relate to and “rich” doesn’t have a heck of a lot to do with that.  Things like self-awareness and developing your own congruence to values you hold deeply seem to work better for that.

    • This is a thought-provoking comment, Netta. Don’t you feel like you can better express yourself when you have the money and freedom to do so? If you’re constantly worried about money, then it’s hard to truly express who you really are.

Although, it’s kind of a chicken-and-egg thing. Does expressing who you truly are bring you riches because you’re just focusing on what you love and being happy Or does being rich allow you to open up to who you really are because you have more opportunities to explore the world?

I kind of also think that getting “rich” isn’t always necessarily about money. For instance, I know in the book Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill never talks about money at all. Being rich can be much deeper than that.

Your comment made me think for sure, so thanks for that!

      • I’m not sure, Christina. It does seem to me that my friends who are rich spend a lot of time thinking about staying rich.

        • That’s true. I’ve seen that happen too. Perhaps they need to focus more on the GOOD it can bring to others?

  4. Hi Christina,

This was really awesome and thought provoking article and it appeared as if the Universe itself presented it to me at a time when I needed such motivation the most.

You rightly said – it is the FOCUS which channelizes all our energy into the way we lead it to. The focus on making big wealth and become happy by serving the community we live in is too positive. Thanks for such a great insight.

    • Great, Gaurav! I’m glad you were presented this article when you needed it. I don’t believe in coincidences. 🙂 And yes, money can be a VERY positive thing. It can be negative too. It’s not the money that’s the issue, it’s the thoughts surrounding it.

So, why not get rich and use it for positive things and create more good in your life and the life of others’? Sounds like a win-win to me!
