My #1 Recommendation

What is Lifestyle Now?

Product: Lifestyle Now
Cost: FREE! Oh. No, wait. It’s actually $49.95 + $9.97 a month
Owner(s): Tanya Christiansen (Fake name and probably not this actress.)
[yasr_overall_rating size=”medium”]

Taking a look at the sales video, it’s got some marketing hype, but it’s not the hype-iest one I’ve ever seen. Income Elite Team might take the top award for that.

Lifestyle Now sales video

Here’s what I learned from watching the video:

  • You are extremely lucky to be here right now
  • This video could be gone in the next 5 to 10 minutes
  • This information is controversial
  • Do not record this video, and do not share with anyone (lololololol)
  • This MUST remain a secret (riiigggghhhhhttttt…!)
  • (You know, the SAME stuff EVERY one of these videos says…)

Oh, HERE’s the hype!

Lifestyle Now Sales Video Hype

(Ooooohhhh “sensational” “confidential” “secrets”. I better keep watching!)

Tanya is inviting us to use this for free – 100% FREE! (We’ll see about that!) This system is as beginner-friendly as you can get. Beginners have an edge because they’re not scared to take risks like the experts.

She’s got this one right!

Sales Video - Scams!

(Hmmm, I’m realizing this video is basically the same script as The Profit Shortcut. If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all!)

Tanya goes on to tell us that she’s covering 99% of the costs to run this program. And she’s taking a HUGE “gamble” on a stranger by doing that. (This is dumb. Don’t believe any of it!)

If you’re smart and skeptical, you’re going to be impressed when you see Lifestyle Now put cash into your wallet!

Tanya grew up poor. She thought she would always be poor. Until she discovered the Internet gold rush that you can take advantage of too. She didn’t work hard to learn how to use this system.

This system was handed over to her by her friend, “Joel”. (She won’t tell us his last name because she wants to maintain his privacy and doesn’t want us to Google him to find out who he is. lol)

What would a sales video be without some fake testimonials? How do I know they’re fake? First of all, they just don’t sound the way normal people talk. Secondly, let’s take Tera, for example. She tells us that she regrets going to college because she makes way more money than most managers, and she does “absolutely zero work to make it.”.

Testimonial Girl

This is the EXACT script that Testimonial Girl used in the Steal My System review. These guys can’t even come up with new scripts! At least be a little creative. Sheesh!

I’m pretty tired of watching this video, especially since I’ve seen it all before – literally! Let’s move on.

How Does Lifestyle Now Work?

It’s hard to say because these videos never reveal exactly what you’ll be getting yourself into until you actually sign up. I decided to fill out my information just to see what happens.

Lifestyle Now is really Now Lifestyle? This is confusing!

Lifestyle Now Now LifestyleSo we can see that if we’re being asked to build a downline, this is really an MLM (multi-level marketing) or Network Marketing product.

I thought Tanya said this was FREE to join, but alas. It’s another trick.

Lifestyle Now is Not Free

I have recently been a member of an MLM. I have to say that I love their products and I’m still a customer today, but succeeding in an MLM is NOT easy. I’m not totally against MLMs, and some people do very well, but 99% do not.

The guys at the top are the ones making the big bucks. And not everyone can get to the top. I’m not saying it would be impossible for you to do it, but it ain’t easy! Here are some downsides of being in an MLM:

  • You have to pay a monthly fee to be able to make money.
  • You usually end up spending way more than you can make.
  • You have to recruit people and chase sales. This is NOT fun. Do you see people trying to sell their stuff all over Facebook? Annoying, right? You’ll be that person.
  • Income isn’t passive. You have to do a LOT of selling.

MLMs are great for the people who create them and for the very few who can climb their way to the top. They’re not that great for the rest of us.

Is Lifestyle Now a Scam or Legit?

Thumbs DownI’m not totally saying this is a scam, but the sales video sure is scammy! Let’s talk about those red flags:

  • Saying this is controversial
  • Saying that this is a secret that shouldn’t be shared with anyone
  • Saying the video could be gone in the next 5-10 minutes
  • Using fake testimonials
  • Using the same script as other get-rich-quick nonsense products
  • Implying that it’s so easy to make money that it requires almost no work
  • Saying “other products” are scams and B.S.

These are all tricks and lies to try to get you to believe this crap. They want you to think you’re special and that you only have a small window of opportunity to participate. They are trying to get you to act based on emotion.

The worst thing of all is when you don’t know what the product is about after watching the video. You should at least have some idea before you go handing over your hard-earned money.

This is the reason I do these reviews. I want to save as many people as possible from falling into these traps!

You CAN Make Money Online

Money on a computerAll hope is not lost! Yes, you CAN make money online. I do it through something called affiliate marketing. I like to think of affiliate marketing as a way to match up a person with something that they’re looking for. It’s usually done through blog posts such as this one.

For instance, you had a question and you wanted to know “Is Lifestyle Now a scam?” I did the research and helped you answer that question. If it wasn’t a scammy product, and I thought it was good, I could promote it to you and, if you liked it and purchased from me, I would make a commission.

I would never promote it though because I don’t like the shady tactics they used!

Instead, I’m going to present to you an alternative. If you end up like that product and you decided to join, I would make a commission from that. You could do the same thing!

What’s awesome is that you could do the same thing with any topic you like. You could make a website that promotes dog toys, ski equipment, roller skating accessories…anything at all! That’s the beauty of it!

If you’re brand new to affiliate marketing, then I’m going to suggest that you read my Free Guide to Making Money Online for Beginners. It’ll take you through the whole process of how it all works.

Affiliate Marketing Versus Multi-Level Marketing

I mentioned some downsides of MLM up above. Affiliate marketing is different, and much better (in my opinion) because of these awesome benefits:

  • You only need to make a small investment in your business for web hosting and eventually a tool or two
  • You can promote and “sell” anything you like! You’re not tied down to any specific products
  • You don’t chase sales. Interested people come to YOU.
  • You don’t deal with any product inventory or customer service.
  • Work when you want, where you want. (With many MLMs, you need to do home party, or have educational events.)

The key with affiliate marketing is learning to do it right. I’m all for products that provide value and actually teach you the proper way to set things up. That’s why I’m going to point you again to My #1 Recommendation. I wouldn’t know how to do a THING without this training platform.

And unlike Lifestyle Now, it’s free to join (no credit card or sensitive information required) so that you can see everything involved and see if it’s right for YOU.

  2. Hey Christina,

You are right about the sales video though, it sure looks scammy! I felt like joining it but I saw the rating and looks pretty bad (you’ve given it 1 on 5). I visited their website as well but it doesn’t look professional whatsoever. I liked the way you compared Affiliate Marketing with Multi-Level Marketing. People will think twice before applying to Lifestyle Now.

Thanks a lot for writing this article as it was very helpful. Keep up the good work Christina!

    • I really just don’t like all the tricks and fakery they use in these videos to try to draw people in. It makes even the good guys seem untrustworthy, which is really frustrating.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. As you mentioned in this video, I really feel like I have read all of this and seen it all before!

I have read quite a few reviews on places like that. I know they are scammers but surely they are intelligent enough to create a new script, or a different video idea… something, anything!

I’m not saying your review was repetitive by the way, I enjoyed reading that! I’m just saying there are only so many topics you can actually write about when all these scammers are the same!

Thanks for a good post, very helpful indeed.

    • I really think these guys are getting lazy! First, they use the same testimonial actors. And now they just use the same scripts? I mean, I want them to at least be a little creative here. lol

And I totally agree with you. I feel like I’m saying the same thing over and over. But it’s OK because other people who are looking for a particular product probably haven’t read all the other reviews and to them it might be something completely new.

If you’ve been around a while and have seen these products, then it’s all the same!

  4. Hi Christina,

You are so on point, there are so many products to be reviews. This is the first that I have heard about lifestyle now and I am glad that I came across your review first so I don’t have to waste my time and just put it on my no no list. Hands down, affiliate marketing still trumps MLM. Unless you are on top of the MLM pyramid then it works for you. I personally like affiliate marketing better, you work for yourself and earn comssion. I love WA, joined last August and not a day that I regret about it. People in the community are so supportive and I leanrd a lot from the program. Great review, happy holidays

    • It might depend on your personality too. Maybe some personalities are better with MLM? I’m an introvert so I feel like affiliate marketing is better because I don’t have to talk to anyone in person. lol I still think affiliate marketing is better – even for the extrovert! MLMs are just a bit too hard to get to the top.

I’m glad you’re enjoying Wealthy Affiliate! The community is one of the BEST parts about it!

  5. I agree. Those get rich quick scams take advantage of people everywhere. We need more reviews like this to shine the light on them. I know when I first started my online business I would watch skits like this and thought about buying into their program once or twice. I just could not see myself giving them money. They make all the affiliate programs look bad. \

I would like to know how you came  about the Wealthy Affiliate Platform? Great information and review! Very Helpful.

    • There are SO many of these programs out there, it’s almost hard to keep up with them all. I have 3 more that I need to look at! I feel bad for people who are really looking to make a living online, and then they are presented with all these products that just won’t deliver on their promises.

I don’t even remember how I came across Wealthy Affiliate, it’s been so long! I’m sure I did a search for making money online. You know, the usual. 🙂 I’m glad I found it though. Otherwise I’d still be buying these products and getting nowhere!
